About Me
I write to create new worlds and to explore the faults in this one. And I write for young adults because I believe they have the power and compassion to fix it all.
My background is in television production, which left me with an Emmy-shaped bookend and a knack for cinematic storytelling. Now I live on a small hobby farm in New Hampshire with my border collie Willoughby (named after my favorite Vermont lake), a dozen chickens, and my husband Ryan, who is an adaptive athlete and advocate for spinal cord injury awareness.
About My Work
My first love is fantasy for its power to transport me and my readers to realities only limited by our own minds. But I've also explored sci-fi on Mars and thrillers in Boston and historical fictions in Manhattan and dystopians in seaside casinos. I love so many genres and like to stretch between them so my stories don't become too formulaic.
My style sits in that upmarket slice between commercial and literary fiction, playing with figurative language and poetic prose but in an accessible, economical way.
